Spoke to a plains titan, and asked him how his life is, and got no response. When I attempted to continue the conversation, there were no options available. When I hit any key, the game immediately crashes. Reproduced with the same plains titan. Attempted the same with a Minotaur and made it non-hostile until I met it's child.
