Playable Naga Race

Nagas - serpentine-humanoid hybrids with the upper body of a human, and the lower body of a great serpent.

Physically, nagas are massive, if only because of their tail's mass, but are actually shorter of stature than a normal human. They have good strength and speed in bursts, but lack stamina, are weak to disease, and recover slowly. Their minds are creative and artistically inclined, socially adept, and they have a great well of willpower to draw upon, but they lack patience or the technical expertise of dwarves.

They are a race that is perhaps best defined by their pride - they can sometimes be selfish or sometimes generous to those they feel kinship towards, but in spite of their need for social interaction, they are also fiercely individualistic and potentially troublesome to those who do not know how best to assuage their pride.

Naga also possess an innate swimming ability thanks to their powerful serpentine tails, but they still do not prefer traveling through sub-aquatic pathways.

This mod also includes some unique tools, toys, and clothing suited to naga society.

To use this mod, decompress and dump the files in the objects and graphics folders into the raws folder. There should be no need for overwriting. Remember that you have to remove CIV_CONTROLLABLE from ENTITY:MOUNTAIN or else dwarves will still also be playable, however, (you should use the TAB key while on the embark screen to see if "nagas" are the top race in the relations before embarking,) and you will also need to add into the entity_naga file all modded-in reactions if you have performed other mods.

Version 1.9 corrects an oversight in not having a beekeeper tile until now.

Version 1.8 rearranges some weapons to try to alleviate the size bonuses making the game too easy. I also found how to make animated creatures appear.

Version 1.7 fixes some minor problems with the creature raws and naga.txt not working properly, and some minor play tweaks. Nagas will now build forts like humans do, so there's something to actually visit in a Naga civ.

Version 1.6 revises some details with skills - now ambushing and swimming are innate competent and adequate, and some skills are learned faster or slower.

Version 1.5 takes advantage of the fact that pants and shoes no longer have to be part of the original items_shoes.txt file, to make installation easier.

Version 1.4 corrects a small problem in the entity raws where I didn't realize the hammerer had been updated. Nagas now have spear-based executioners.

Version 1.3 adds the new words introduced in 34.01 to the language files

Version 1.2 updates for .34.01 Please contact me if you want further backwards-compatible versions of the mod for any reason.

Version 1.1 corrects some minor oversights in the creature_naga.txt file that led to nagas not having ears.
